Dua Lipa signed with Warner Bros Records in 2014 after she was a model and released her self-titled debut album in 2017. It reached the top 3 spot in the U.K. Charts and released eight singles. They included Be the one I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. No. 1 single New Rules as well as the U.K. No. #1 single New Rules. Dua Lipa is Bosnian heritage through her maternal grandmother. It is possible to trace her family's roots back to Peja, a city in Kosovo. Lipa's grandparents were both historians. She is a sister to Rina Lipa and an older brother called Gjin. Lipa began to learn how guitar playing and sing from her dad Oda. Oda is the singer/guitarist who leads Kosovan's rock group Oda.
